In 1991 the Georgia Coroner Association began honoring Coroners and Deputy Coroners with two awards named in honor of outstanding public servants. Each year a Coroner and Deputy Coroner are nominated by their peers for their outstanding service to their community and the Georgia Coroners Association.
In addition, we have the E. Leroy Sims Distinguished Service Award that is presented to the Coroner or Deputy Coroner who has provided outstanding service to their community and the association.
