TRAINING SCHEDULE 2008:

There will be two specialties (make up) classes,
One will be APRIL 22-24 in Forsyth and it will be over Photography.
This is not a regular class and it is for make up only.
The other one will be in the fall and it will be over Blood Patterns,
the date will be set later. It is also a specialty class and not a regular class.

Training:
January 15-17…………………………….Forsyth

March 5-7 ………………………………..Forsyth

March 26-28……………………………..Savannah

April 12-13 (Saturday and Sunday) 12 hour classes…………….Forsyth

April 22-24 (specialty class only) Photography………………..Forsyth

May 5-7………………………………......Rome


You are reminded that every Coroner and Deputy Coroner
must have 24 hours of continuing education each year.
All courses you receive outside of the courses from
Forsyth must be approved by the Georgia Coroners Training Council
prior to you attending these courses.

The cost of the classes are $300.00 made payable to the
Georgia Coroner’s Training Council.

Per Diem Pay Increase Announced

Coroners should note that the Dailey per diem rate
has been raised to $173.00 per day effective 01-01-07.
Those attending classes after January 1, 2007 should
receive this new rate.




TRAINING COURSE RULE CHANGES:

The following is an announcement from the
Georgia Coroners Training Council.
These are the rule changes from the training council
that went into effect January 1, 2006.

1. You cannot take the same training course more than once
in a year, and receive more than 24 hours credit.
RULE #112-2-047(1)

2.You must take the annual training provided by the Georgia
Police Academy for three years out of the four year term.
Outside training must be approved 45 days prior to the training
by the training council. A syllabus of the training shall be
forwarded to the council for review. RULE #112-2-04(5)

3. If the training council withdraws or suspends certification of a
Coroner or Deputy Coroner, the same shall have 15 calendar days
to request a hearing. A lack of response is viewed as accepting
the Council's decision. RULE #112-4-01 (2c)

4. Annual training shall consist of 24 hours of approved training
and must be in successive days.


REMEMBER, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE 24 HOURS
OF TRAINING FOR THE YEAR!
